Can it be used on vehicles other than Mercedes?+
Yes — a signature feature of the V4.0 series. It ships pre-installed for Mercedes / Sprinter / Smart / Maybach, and diagnostic software for 2 additional vehicle make groups (such as BMW, Ford, Toyota or Honda) can be downloaded free via the update tool.
Does it support Sprinter T1N or early NCV3 vans?+
Yes. It covers Mercedes-Benz Sprinters (901–906, 907, 910) and is well suited to AdBlue reset and DPF regeneration. Early 14-pin Sprinter models built 1995–2006 require the optional 14-pin adapter (sold separately).
Can it work on an older Mercedes without a standard OBD2 port?+
Yes, with the optional iCarsoft 38-pin adapter (sold separately). Most Mercedes models built before 2003 — including C-Class W202, E-Class W210, S-Class W140, CLK W208, SLK R170 and SL R129 — use a 38-pin round diagnostic port instead of the 16-pin OBD2 port.
Will it work on a 2022+ Mercedes E-Class or S-Class?+
Yes. The MB V4.0 supports the CAN-FD protocol required for modern Mercedes platforms (W213, W223, W167, etc.). Note that some 2024+ models use new Security Gateway protocols, where certain advanced functions may be restricted.
Are software updates really free?+
Yes. The MB V4.0 includes lifetime free Wi-Fi software upgrades, with new diagnostic protocols and vehicle coverage continuously released. No annual subscription is required.
